HTC Hero KernelAfter months of waiting, HTC has finally released the HTC Hero Kernel Source Code. HTC has made it available to download from the Developer Centre website. This news is important as the Hero is the first HTC phone with HTC Sense so it opens up its development in terms of mods and improving performance too.

It means we should also see many more custom ROMs for the handset in due course (Mote Blur anyone?) If you’re interested in learning more, then you can download the 49.6MB Kernel yourself here. Also, check out xda-developers forum for more information.
