Many GSM HTC Hero users have already dabbled in the dark arts of rooting their handsets. As you would expect, the xda-developers crew have been hard at work trying to do the same for the CDMA (Sprint) HTC Hero.
The rooting involves reprogramming the boot sequence and operating system. The instructions posted are for Windows machines, but an Ubuntu guide is also expected. Remember, if you do try and root your handset, you may end up voiding your warranty so follow the instructions and tread carefully. For those that like visual instructions, check out a video guide after the break.

Anyone managed to root the hero model EBi1 ? I hear it is already rooted and you need to unroot first.
I’m after a onestopshop flash or walk-through for it.
