New Sense UI shows multitouch features on HTC Hero [Video]

New Sense UI on HTC HeroWhilst we twiddle our fingers waiting for the Android 2.1 firmware , HTC are (hopefully) hard at work behind the scenes in making this a fully featured update. Part of the delay is caused by HTC customising the Sense user interface and integrating it with the new Android 2.1 firmware.

There may be the possibility that this new Sense interface will include multi-touch functionality within the HTC Hero’s homescreens. A video has emerged that shows that pinching the various homescreen panes allows you to zoom out to see all of the panes at a glance. It’s unclear if this will be in the official update or whether it’s some handiwork from a talented hacker. Hopefully, we’ll have more details at next weeks MWC show in Barcelona. I liked the handwriting thing as well.
But last night I installed the leaked Hero friendly trial version of swype. Its amazing! I 100% cant wait for the full release and will happily pay for the full version if needed!

I also agree that multitouch in the maps is the only thing that I think is really missing, the overview thing its pretty cool but I doubt ill ever use it…

mm is that multitouch on the screens really necessart? i quite like scrolling left and right, you need two hands to change screens if you use multitouch

put it on maps :)

swype looks sweet, with the way the hero corrects your miss-aiming it almost is swype but swype saves you from lifting your finger etc

i’m sure u can still go left and right
