Sprint HTC HeroEarlier this week we heard about possible release dates for the Android 2.1 update on the GSM HTC Hero. Sprint Hero users were left in the cold from that piece of news, but now we have official word on timing from Sprint via a leaked memo.

According to the screencap attached after the break, Sprint will be rolling out the Android 2.1 update in the “coming weeks”. The message includes the following sentence: “Let your customers know we are actively working on having the Android 2.1 platform available to our Hero and Moment customers over the coming weeks.” It then goes on to say, “Look for more information coming in April about Android 2.1 platform for Hero and Moment.” There you go, it looks like we’ll all be finally getting the update in April.

If that screen shot is true and accurate it sure sounds like Sprint is going to get the Nexus One. Or am I reading into this too much?? Thoughts?

Well yeah, that’s been in the news recently. It’s been announced subsidized for Verizon, not sure if it has for Sprint yet. But the EVO 4 is gonna be insane for Sprint too.

But this will make the Nexus One the first handset available, EVER, for all 4 carriers, as far as I can recall. Only difference being the radio.
