Sprint HeroThere’s word on the street that the Android 2.1 update ROM has been leaked for the Sprint HTC Hero. The update is for the CDMA version only, not the European GSM version.

The update is rumoured to launch in the next few weeks, but if you can’t wait that long you can find the leaked ROM here. We cannot verify whether this is the real deal or not so download at your own risk!

Via Android Central.

Thanks Peter!

I contacted T-Mobile support in the UK asking when we might see the 2.1 update … here’s their reply ..

“We will be releasing the update for the G2 at roughly the same time as HTC release the generic Hero update. Not long to wait now :)

yeah, except the released update isn’t the generic one but the sprint update

Yeah, except the release quoted in Alan’s comment is nothing to do with the sprint update..
Its referring to the generic UK release date… So your comment makes not even the blindest bit of sense…

I asked HTC when the 2.1 update would be available for the Orange Hero customers.
The reply that I got was:
June 1st, HTC have had to delay the release because of a technical problem, which they are
trying to resolve.
